Pastor’s Message: Baptism of our Lord

Dear Friends in Christ,

This Sunday, we celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord—a moment in scripture where Jesus steps into the waters of the Jordan and into his public ministry. As we reflect on his baptism, we’re invited to consider our own: the promises made, the grace received, and the call we share to live as God’s beloved people in the world. Together, we’ll explore how our baptism connects us to Christ and to one another, shaping our ministry and inspiring our service. We’ll also take time to reflect on the spiritual gifts God has given each of us and how we might use them to serve others in love.

It’s an exciting time at Westview Church as we kick off a new year of ministry. This Sunday, we’ll dive into themes of Epiphany, that God’s light shines in the darkest places, propelling us toward hope, action, and community. Inspiring music and moments of reflection and worship will center us in Christ and send us out with renewed energy for the work ahead. This is also an opportunity to share in the joy of new beginnings as we embrace fresh ideas and ministries for 2025.

Please make plans to be with us this Sunday for worship—it won’t be the same without you! Together, we’ll reflect on the light of Christ in our lives and the call to shine that light in our neighborhoods and beyond. Come prepared to sing, pray, and celebrate the grace of God that not only sustains us but also calls us to something greater. I look forward to seeing you there as we begin this new year of ministry together with joy and purpose.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Marty Lettow
