Pastor Marty’s Thoughts for Thanksgiving 2024

November 26th, 2024

Dear Westview Church,

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let us give thanks for the gift of worship and our shared experience of God in community. Week after week, we have been renewed through worship that invites us into the divine presence and reminds us of the steadfast love and faithfulness that sustains us. The music, prayers, and messages we have shared this year have not only nourished our spirits but also sparked new energy and hope as we envision Westview’s future. In worship, we find a sacred space where our faith is strengthened, and we are drawn closer to one another as a community of believers.

Let us also give thanks for the leadership that guides our congregation. We are blessed with a church council and a team of dedicated professionals who serve with wisdom, grace, and care. Their efforts to guide us forward, often behind the scenes, are a reflection of their commitment to the mission of Westview. As they navigate the challenges and opportunities before us, may they continue to be strengthened and inspired to lead with courage and compassion. Their work is a gift to us all and helps us stay focused on the path we are called to follow together.

Finally, we give thanks for the gift of music and our call to be a musical congregation. Music has long been a source of joy and connection within our community, and this year it has been especially clear how it enriches our worship and draws us closer to one another. Whether through beloved hymns or new expressions of faith, music allows us to share love and hope with the world. With this clarity of purpose, we can plan with creativity and freedom as we explore how this gift can shape our future. May our voices and hearts continue to resonate with gratitude and praise as we share the beauty of God’s love through music.

In Christ,

Pastor Marty Lettow
